Calculate the mean, median, and mode of the following set of data. Round to the nearest tenth. 14, 2, 15, 15, 2, 1, 5, 7, 11, 6, 2 a.mean = 6.7, median = 6, mode = 8 b.mean = 7.3, median = 8, mode =2 c.mean = 6.7, median = 6, mode = 2 d.mean = 7.3, median = 6, mode = 2

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

To find the median, you want to order the data set from least to greatest. Then find the middle number to find the median. To find the mode, you want to see which number appear the most in that data set. To find the mean, you just add up all of the numbers in the data set, and divide it by the amount of data in the data set. Make sense?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

So what's the mode in that data set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Great! So a is out. We now have b,c,d. After putting the data set from least to greatest, what's the middle number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

I'm sure you know how to find the mean. So what's the mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7.3

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Great! Therefore, the answer is D! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep
