solve D=ABC for B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What this is asking you to do is get one side to equal B. So, if you move everything but B to one side, you will have the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand so b=cad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite. Try dividing instead of multiplying.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

We want B by itself, so what do we do to A and C? Well, you want to do inverse operation to do this. ABC is another way of saying A * B * C. What's the reciprocal of multiplication?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Are you here? @kishia512

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes im here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the recip is divinding

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Good job.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Division is the "inverse" operation of multiplication. It "undoes" it.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

According to the communative property (I believe I spelled it correctly), you can switch it around. So ABC can be wirtten as ACB. We divide AC by AC. AC / AC would result in cancel out. But you must do it to the other side. D / AC = D / AC. You can't physically combine it because they're not like temr. So you leave it as : |dw:1373827388150:dw|
