I've never seen the formula for stopping distance, but I bet I could help show you how to use it.

there is not obvious formula for stopping distance but you can use many equations and relate it by distance formula you can do what you want

i think we will be needing acceleration (uniform or non uniform) and then with some integration we will be able to find the distance required to be traversed to bring about a certain change in velocity. See ,if u are given acceleration in the question.
