Can someone prove Euler's formula without calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm in pre-calc trying to understand \[\Large e^{ix}=cosx+isinx\] because ik for any postiive integer a, that \[\Large e^{ai}=e^{a}e^{i}=\cos(a)+isin(a)\] which shows why Euler's identity works how it does, I saw this proven by the Taylor series, but I haven't reached that yet, or anything else in calc for that matter so if its not possible to explain without, let me know

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler's_formula go here there are all types of proofs in it

you can see this link it's very useful http://arcsecond.wordpress.com/2009/02/07/eulers-formula-without-calculus-pt-1-exponentiation/

@rathanreddy got here first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mohamed7IBrahim he gave the correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

point, but see i was on the page you provided, but i just ddin't read the part where it was proven without it, lol
