Can you please help me with this I really need it :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please someone help me I need it so bad!

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

there are 4 choices so probability of any 1 choice is 1/4 with replacement, it will always be 1/4 chance of picking any given person without replacement, the total num reduces by 1, so prob is 1/4 for 1st person then 1/3 for next person remember, P(A and B) = P(A)*P(B)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so let me do them and could you check them?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so is the 3rd term B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or would the 1st term be B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so it says darnell or his sister, so once you pick and its wrong its now 1/3 and before it was 1/4 now you can pick out of 3 people only.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so from what ive done i feel like the 1st term is B and the 3rd term is C, is this correct?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

o actually 4th term is B , 1st term is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is that?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

1st term --> P(darnell) * P(sister) --> 1/4 * 1/3 = 1/12

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

2nd term --> P(mother) *P(father) (with replacement) --> 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay and what about 3rd term?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

parent is both mother and father so probability is 2/4 or 1/2 --> 1/2 * 1/4 = 1/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay i understand thank you so much!! You are a life saver!

OpenStudy (dumbcow):
