jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hint: pick a few points and apply the rule ex: pick (1,7) and apply the rule to get (-1,7)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

plot these points as well if you're not seeing what's going on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y axis?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what about the y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its on the y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reflected*

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you mean it's a reflection over the y axis?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yep, good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx! Ive been asking this forever!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome, a lot of the time, the drawing helps you see what's going on so I recommend drawing it out if you get stuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i actually drew it twice. x) And kept getting 2 diff answers. But thanks again. :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ah i see, so maybe you were applying the rule incorrectly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably. :/

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's ok, keep practicing and you'll get better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you help with a similar problem im stuck on?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
