Can someone explain point slope form to me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\] where the point is \((x_1,y_1)\) and the slope is \(m\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhh okay thanks @satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw an example might help do you have one ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 slope: -5/7 how do i find the point slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cannot unless you have one more piece of information to find the equation of a line you need two pieces of information, not just one there are an infinite number of parallel lines with slope \(-\frac{5}{7}\)
