Assume the square has side lengths = 1 so that the area of the square is 1, then the half circles have diameter = 1 (i.e. radius =1/2). Calculate the area of the circle and divide it by the area of the square.

but i dont know the area of the square @domu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's fine, all we need is the proportion of the circle compared to the square. So it doesn't matter which length you pick for the side of square. I.e. we can just assume the length of each side of the square = 1.

ok this problem is very hard for me

What's the formula for the area of a circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probability will be pi/4
