Medal for helping me with a (not so) simple question. I'll post it down below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1374338950807:dw| what does that symbol mean?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Depends on context. I'm willing to bet it means congruence, in this one...

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

\[\Huge \cong\]

OpenStudy (lopus):

congruence is congruent to geometry △ABC ≅ △DEF means triangle ABC is congruent to (has the same measurements as) triangle DEF. isomorphic is isomorphic to abstract algebra G ≅ H means that group G is isomorphic (structurally identical) to group H. (≈ can also be used for isomorphic, as described above.)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

isomorphism, yeah, that works too :P

Oh thanks!!!
