Is this problem correct F (x)= x² - 3x + 1= 2x+3+1= 2(1)+3+1= 2+3+1= 6? Or solve it and show me where I went wrong... Thanks.

OpenStudy (primeralph):

What exactly are you trying to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get from step 1 to step 2? It looks like a derivative, but then the 1 shouldn't be there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @alffer1 that's what it is but I really don't understand this subject... so I;m just guessing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can anyone explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're on the right track, but the derivative of 1 is 0. The derivative of any constant is zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The rest is perfectly right. So the answer is 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You used the power rule to find the derivatives of the others, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O :) thanks ...so happy I wasn't completely lost thanks @alffer1
