Our language is really weird. Lots of irregular verb conjugations and pronunciations. Take this verb for example: "To read." Present tense: "Read." Like..."I read lots of books." Past tense: "Read." Like...."I read that book." They're both spelled the same, but pronounced totally differently. ---------- Take this verb: "To write." Present tense: "Write." Past tense: "Wrote." We usually add an (ED) onto the end of a word, to make it past tense. But it doesn't always work this way. We can't say "I writed the essay." We have to say..."I wrote the essay." Many children have trouble with these irregular verb conjugations, when they're still young. Foreigners tend to have the same kinds of problems.
