Solve -3x + 1 > 4 and describe the graph of the solution. x < -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the left x < -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the right x > -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the left x > -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the right

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

-3x+1>4 -1 -1 -3x>3 /-3 /-3 x<-1

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

it would be the first choice because when the variable is less than the given value, the shading will go to the left.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

also remember that when you divide by a negative, the inequality is flipped, which is why x is less than -1, not greater than

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

does that make sense @Kalese?
