Hold on geeze :p
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Use the Pythagorean theorem.
OpenStudy (primeralph):
Follow @jprulz . Right method.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Do you know the theorem?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah but it looks confusing it would be A^2 + 225 = x + 6 ? or is that wrong ...

You have to square each leg and set it equal to the hypotenuse.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That's what I did yo
OpenStudy (primeralph):
Very wrong.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x^2+15^2=(x+6)^2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you have to expand that. Don't forget the middle term in (x+6)^2

OpenStudy (primeralph):
Very right.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait what's the square root of 1x? and the square root of 15 is 225 which I got right and would the square root of (x+6) be 7x+36? Oh god I'm so confused lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x^2 is x^2 and 15^2 is 225, but (x+6)^2 is not 7x+36.
OpenStudy (primeralph):
Do you guys need my help?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Think of it as(x+6)(x+6). Don't forget to FOIL

I did foil
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If you foil, you get x^2+6x+6x+36 which is x^2+12x+36
OpenStudy (anonymous):
OHHHH yeah mybad I totally did that in a rush
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I feel so dumb now ._.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So, it is x^2+225=x^2+12x+36
