What is the domain of the function f of x equals the square root of 2x minus 4 minus 5

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

\[\sqrt{2x-4}-5\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

then 2x-4 must be greater than equal to 0 \[2x-4\ge0 \rightarrow2x\ge4\rightarrow x\ge2\]

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

because we cant take the square root of negative numbers, so domain is all x such that that does not happen, domain = \[\{\forall x \in R | x\ge 2 \}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the domain would be all reall numbers?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

no, read what I said

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

x>=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never mind I got it thank you
