12.5 * (29.2+10)/2
OpenStudy (amistre64):
*+20 ... not 10
OpenStudy (anonymous):
307.5?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
squared?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
307.5 is the correct value ... the units for area are ^2
that doesnt mean that you square the results tho

assume a radius of 1, or 10, or any of your favorite numbers ... the ratio of areas will be the same
OpenStudy (amistre64):
say radius = 1
whats the area of a circle with a radius of 1?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
diameter is 2 so 2 * 360?

lets go with pi r^2 .... so pi
the square has a side of sqrt(2) ... so its area is sqrt(2) * sqrt(2) = 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay.
OpenStudy (amistre64):
2/pi is the probability of getting a shady spot
OpenStudy (amistre64):
thats about 2/3 so about 66?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so about 65%?
