Please help me on how to solve this radical equation, sqrt(y^2-5y+9)= y-2

OpenStudy (loser66):

square both sides to take radical off, then solve as usual

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would just be y^2-5y+9=y^2-2y-2y+4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I guess the sqrt y^2 threw me off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe so, I got y=5
