how do you convert to radians

hero (hero):

Multiply by \[\frac{\pi}{180}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like 270^0

hero (hero):

\[270^{\circ} \times \frac{\pi}{180^{\circ}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

hero (hero):

Don't forget, degrees cancel, so you have to simplify: \[\frac{270 \pi}{180}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 23 pi/15

hero (hero):

Remember, with fractions, you can cancel factors of one so, re-write like this: \[\frac{(90)(3) \pi}{(90)(2)}\]

hero (hero):

I don't know how you got that. You need to cancel factors of one to simplify

hero (hero):

Anything factor that occurs in both the numerator and the denominator cancels. 90 is obviously one such factor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thanks i figured it out! :)

hero (hero):

Be careful when simplifying. The only proper way to simplify is to find factors of one and cancel them

hero (hero):

If you're going to use a calculator, make sure you use it correctly.
