Assume that 0 is less than or equal to θ, which is less than π/2. Find sinθ, cosθ, and secθ if cotθ=4.

there is a picture of an angle whose cotangent (adjacent over opposite) is 4 you need the hypotenuse, which you find via pythagoras \[h=\sqrt{4^2+1^2}=\sqrt{17}\]|dw:1374712624243:dw|

then use whatever ratio you need to find sine, cosine, tangent etc

That's why I'm so confused! It's supposed to be on the unit circle, so I know the cosine and sine should be less than one and I think the hypotenuse should be one. I just can't figure it out. I'm sorry for making this harder than it should be! It's been a while since I dealt with these kind of problems. Thank you SO much for your help though! I really appreciated it!

you could put it in the unit circle if you like, it is just more work you would write the triangle i wrote and then divide all by \(\sqrt{17}\) but you don't need to

Oh, that makes sense. :) I wish I didn't have to put it in the unit circle, but the directions on my assignment say to do so. Thanks! You've been a great help!
