If you flip an equation over the x-axis, then it's just basically the original equation but all negative what you started with.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If one equation is f(x) = x^2 + 5 Flipping it would be g(x) = -(x^2 + 5) = -x^2 - 5

OpenStudy (nory):

@mathstudent55 is right. You just do the negative of the original equation. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where u got the 5 from

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

That was an example to show you how to do it. In your example it's 2 instead of 5. Do the same procedure.

OpenStudy (nory):

Multiply the x^2 and the 2 by -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-x^2-2?

OpenStudy (nory):

Very good!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

That's it.
