How did religious conversion show itself in social action during the Second Great Awakening? Religious Americans thought that stricter laws would someday remove sin from society. Church leaders ordered their congregations to do public work as punishment for their sins. The converted wanted to bring more people into their church and change their communities. Church members wanted to follow the example of Jesus by doing good work in their communities. @Compassionate

My lesson: Evangelicals believed humans could conquer sin and remake themselves through conversion to christianity.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

It's either C or D. Hmm... Which one do you think?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

I think its C ;/

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hm. I'm not sure. But I'd say, "c," too.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

my lesson also says this: Protestant movement emphasizing personal experience of guilt for sin and dedicating ones life to following and sharing the teachings of jesus

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

idk if that helps ;/ lol

OpenStudy (compassionate):

We have many different denominations like Protestant, Evangelical teachings, Apostolic, Pentecost, and many more. However, surely, not all of these helped improve the way of life. So inviting more people from the community to your religion wouldn't improve anything. For example, as mentioned above, the Protestants believe in punishment. Surely that doesn't benefit society. However, a common denominator is that they all believed in Christ. Therefore, take that, and in all Bibles Christ is depicted as kind and caring. So the passion to be like him burned in the heart's of all Christians. Eh, that's just what I came up with. So I believe it's D.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

However, "How did religious conversion show itself in social action during the Second Great Awakening?" >How did the religious conversation show itself in social action >Conversation show itself in social action >Social actions It doesn't need to be beneficial. And the conversion needs to take place. A, B, or D aren't really a form of, "conversion," so I'd go with C.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Sorry if I'm tip-toeing around. I'm just critically thinking about this.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

lol C or D ? which one do u think i should put ?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

C. C is a form of conversion. It even has ,"converted," in it's description.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hope that helped ~~.
