Factor completely: 2x^2 − 6x − 20 prime (2x − 10)(x + 2) (x − 5)(2x + 4) 2(x − 5)(x + 2)
is it (2x − 10)(x + 2) ? @jim_thompson5910
FOIL it out and see if you get the original expression
i did for all of them i keep doing something wrong ):
it turns out that they're all equivalent actually
it's just that the last one is the most factored
i dont understand ):
if you were to expand out each option, they would all expand out to 2x^2 - 10x - 20
the last option is just the most factored option
but i can only pick one option would it be prime then?
it's not prime, you pick the option that's the most factored
oh why is that?
because they want you to factor and usually that means "factor as much as possible"
this is assuming you can factor (which you can in this case, so it's not prime)
