A shadow zone is created where earthquake waves are not detected P-waves bounce off the liquid core. S-waves are absorbed at the core. Cause ground to move back and forth in an S-shaped pattern
then there is C which is a surface wave :3 Surface Waves include: Rayleigh waves Also known as R-waves intense damage to the surface, especially to buildings Have a rolling motion, like the waves of the ocean Love waves Also known as L-waves Cause intense damage to the surface, especially to buildings Have a side-to-side motion similar to the movement of a snake
