Find a common denominator...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2089/4590 am i correct?

@gypsy1274

That is not my answer. \(\Large{\frac{8}{27}+\frac{1}{18}+\frac{1}{10}}\) They have no common factors, so the common denominator is all denominators multiplied together: \(27 \times 18 \times 10 = 4860\).

Are you using a calculator? I certainly would with numbers this large, unless you were told not to by your teacher.

\[\frac{8(18)(10)+1(27)(10)+1(27)(18)}{4860} = \frac{1440+270+486}{4860} = \frac{2196}{4860} \div \frac{9}{9} =\] \[ \frac{244}{540} \div \frac{4}{4} = \frac{61}{135}\]
