The difference of two perfect squares...

Factoring a difference of squares... :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x-1)(x+1) , (2x-1)(2x+1) or...

OpenStudy (uri):

or...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea... :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you gimme a few-pointers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try taking a square root of each of the terms and see where that takes you...

OpenStudy (uri):

Or facrotize it you'll know! Like this 12(12x^2-6) we know the sqrt of 144 is 12 and of 36 is 6.

OpenStudy (uri):

There is one more way... Factorize it with 36. 144x^2-36 36(4x^2-1) 36(2x-1) (2x+1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(4x+1)(4x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right? xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(12x+6)(12x-6) is the correct answer. :) /Closed
