ln(3x+1)-ln(x+5)=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start by adding ln(x+5) from both sides. Now you'll get this: ln(3x+1)=ln(x+5) Now, we have the same base log equal to itself, so the stuff inside must be equal too: 3x+1=x+5

ohh and than just solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what I got too. You can check it by plugging it into the original equation if you'd like.
