here is a complicated proof

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just wanna know the following proof is right or wrong in tringle abd and bdc ab=bc ad=dc and angle a = angle c so by SAS property triangle abd = triangle cbd hence angle adb = angle cdb angle adb+angle cdb = 180 angle adb = angle cdb = 90 hence right angle

it was given by @chandanjha

in tringle abd and bdc ab=bc ad=dc how do we know ad= dc ? this seems to be putting point D on the line AC (a figure would help) the problem is you don't know if the line AD goes through the point O it is easy to show that AD where D bisects AC is perpendicular to the line AC use the proof you just posted, with the reason for ad=dc being "by construction" but as just noted, you don't know (have not shown) that AD goes through the point O
