Write the trigonometric expression in terms of sine and cosine, and then simplify. sin u + cot u cos u

OpenStudy (psymon):

Well, cot u = cosu/sinu. You can use that to start ya off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that part but coming from the answer book it's csc u and I just can't seem to get that.

OpenStudy (psymon):

Ah. It is. Well, once you have sinu + (cos^2(u)/sinu), make it into one fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHH i think I see my mistake. o.o

OpenStudy (psymon):

Mhm. Once you make it into one fraction, you have sin^2(u) + cos^2(u) on top divided by sin u. I'm sure you can see it from there ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay thank you I got it. :D

OpenStudy (psymon):

Cool :P
