Okay so I have FLVS geometry and this is 9.05. It has three "Tasks" and I can't seem to get the third one. Here it is: In complete sentences, describe to the mayor how your solutions will help save Geo City: 1.From the conditional statement that you wrote, determine if the inverse, converse, and contrapositive are logically equivalent. Explain for each statement why or why not. 2.The mayor isn’t as good at geometric proofs as the Geo Squad. Explain to the mayor how using geometric proofs helps maintain the order in Geo City. In task 1 i wrote the following sentences: Statement: I

What were the answers you wrote for each question?

Task #1 Statement: IF we shoot Mr. Madness in the heart, then he will be defeated. Converse: He will be defeated, if we shoot Dr.Madness in the heart. Inverse: IF Mr. Madness is not shot in the heart, then he will not be defeated. Contropositive: IF Dr. Madness has not been defeated, then we have not shot him in the heart. Task #2 Angle 2 equals angle 3 (vertically opposite angles) so angle 3 and angle 5 are supplementary so l is parallel to m (as interior angles on same side of transversal are supplementary

The pic is for task #2

I'm confused right now. The thing that I don't understand is the answer for task two. It asks how applying proofs may help the city, however there is another problem for task 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no the 2 questions in the beginning are for task 3 i only wrote the answer for task 2

Question for task 1: Dr. Madness is very clever. He can solve just about any problem, but he does get tripped up by logic statements. For your first task, you must write a conditional statement to the mayor about your secret plan to defeat Dr. Madness. Then you must change your statement into three different "secret codes" and write the statement in those codes. Your three secret codes will be the inverse, converse, and contrapositive of the conditional. Be sure to identify which statement is which, so that the mayor can decode the message. Look at an example: Statement (Conditional): If I use a Geo Blaster, then Dr. Madness will be defeated. Code #1 (Inverse): If I do not use a Geo Blaster, then Dr. Madness will not be defeated. Code #2 (Converse): If Dr. Madness is defeated, then I used a Geo Blaster. Code #3 (Contrapositive): If Dr. Madness is not defeated, then I did not use a Geo Blaster. Now it's your turn.

question for task 2:Oh no! Dr. Madness has hacked into the Proof Power Plant in Geo City and scrambled some of the proofs that keep Geo City running! The proof for parallel lines was found to be defective. Your task is to unscramble the defective proof. Then, in order to ensure that Dr. Madness can’t unscramble your proof, you need to rewrite the proof in either paragraph or flow chart form. Be sure to show all steps in the proof and make sure that all of the work is complete. Dr. Madness is an error expert! and the pic is for task 2 as well

Honestly I'm not really sure about this question. But what I believe that might be a solution is for the 1st question, use the answer from the first task. Basically, with inverse, converse, and contrapostive, it is rewriting the question. The message is basically the same the whole way. Inverse is negate the hypothesis and conclusion. The converse is switching the hypothesis and conclusions. Contrapostive is negating the converse. Of course, you may have already known all that. Using that, you can prove that each meaning is the same. Each one describes that the DR is killed by shooting him in the heart.

Ok thanks ill try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the 2nd one: Proofs are actions taken in a logical order. You cannot go onto the next step unless you have a reason to prove so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If he wants to keep the order, he has to maintain the cause and effect balance of the city, just as in the proof. ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks bro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait im still confuzed @amistre64 can u help me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

wish i could, but this is too much to go thru and i have to go home ...
