Glucose and fructose are monosaccharides that have the same chemical formula, C6H12O6. However, they do not react the same chemically. Which of the following generalizations can explain this?

you can see the sterogenic structure of both the molecules...the hydogen & oxygen attached to carbons are different..actually glucose is a aldose sugar,means it has a aldehyde(-CHO) group,and fructose is a ketose sugar(-C=O),that is why still having same empirical formula,they are structurally & chemically different.
