Help!!! will give medal:):)) solve for I and j

|dw:1375287513124:dw|

OpenStudy (fifciol):

\[\frac{ i }{\sqrt6 }=\tan30^o\]\[\frac{ i }{j }=\sin45^o\] 2 equations - 2 unknows you can solve for both :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I type the first one into a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im using this calculator http://www.calculator.net/scientific-calculator.html

OpenStudy (fifciol):

you check from a table what are the values of trig functions. \[\tan30^o=\frac{ \sqrt3 }{3 }\]\[\sin45^o=\frac{ \sqrt2 }{2 }\]

OpenStudy (fifciol):

so \[i=\frac{ \sqrt6*\sqrt3 }{3 }=\frac{ \sqrt{18} }{3 }=\frac{\sqrt{9*2} }{3 }=\frac{ 3\sqrt2 }{3 }=\sqrt2\]

OpenStudy (fifciol):

and \[\frac{ \sqrt2 }{j }=\frac{ \sqrt2 }{2 }\] so j=2

OpenStudy (fifciol):

the calculator will not give you the exact values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh Ok thanks so much for the help :)
