What is the value of the x variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 2x − y = 6 4x − 2y = 12 My answer is There is no x value as there is no solution to the system. Am I right? :)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

In the other hand I believe that there are many solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you think theres an endless amount of solutions?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

One solution could be (6,6) try it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could x value be 4? as well?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

And what about (5,4) that is another solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it should be x can be any number as there are infinitely many solutions to the system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are my choices 0 4 x can be any number as there are infinitely many solutions to the system. There is no x value as there is no solution to the system.

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

there are infinitely many solutions to that system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you so much! :)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

yw :)
