Find all polar coordinates of point P = (6, 31°).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isn't the formula you have to use: R * cos(angle) = x point R * sin(angle) = y point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I'm sorry (haven't done this in awhile) I know you can just add 360° to the P point and it would get be the same point do you think that's what it is asking? So it would be P = (6, 31° + n * 360°)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you plug in your calculator 6cos(31) it should equal 6cos(31 + 360) and 6sin(31) = 6 sin(31+360)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Doesn't the question already give you the answer? The coordinates of that point in polar coordinates is (6, 31 degrees)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it says find ALL polar coordinates.

If you go around in a circle, you get back to the same point right? It works the same in math, if you add 360° or 2pi then you would get to the same spot.
