What happens to the carbon atom during photosynthesis ?

thomaster (thomaster):

Photosynthesis: \(\sf\Large 6CO_2+6H_2O ~~\underrightarrow{sunlight}~C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2\)

thomaster (thomaster):

carbon atom in carbon dioxide is used to form glucose

@thomaster Can I have breif details on how? Like in the light independent and light dependent reaction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this case carbon atoms are use to create glucose and this process happens in the chloroplast.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And can I have details of how that's done ? @blaze

thomaster (thomaster):

Maybe this will help you: http://www.shmoop.com/photosynthesis/light-independent-reactions.html
