If you're talking about what to do in your course: Okay, Chinese is torture if you don't start off right. Here's some tips: -Take good notes, for the love of all that is on earth, take good notes -Pay attention to the Han yu pin yin (the english letters used to show how a word is pronounced), the accents are freakishly important because you can end up saying pellet instead of dad. -Practice writing the vocab over and over and over, its pretty much the only way to remember them. I mean, some teachers say that you can just remember the words based on what they look like. It only works in the very beginning. -break words down into parts, in fact, chinese words are made of base words or parts. |dw:1382909804392:dw| heres a pelletty photo of a commonly used part of words. |dw:1382909839675:dw| Here's another pelletty photo, but this is used a lot too. These parts often can signify what the word means, like latin bases. That last photo in fact, pops up in a lot of words involving water, like swim and ocean. -Pay attention in class, do not play minecraft or words with friends or text in class. I spent my first years of chinese class drawing to pass time and it was hell trying to catch up. Now, Good luck and don't die!
