I NEED HELP!!!! The map connects cities X, Y, and Z. The highways connecting the cities make a right triangle. Leo drove from city Y to city Z and Samantha drove from city Y to city X and then from city X to city Z. How many more kilometers did Samantha drive than Leo? Using complete sentences, justify your answer.

thats the explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! the answer and explanation. The question was also on yahoo answers

I dont understand it tho...

1) (yz)^2=(xy)^2+(xz)^2 (34)^2=(xy)^2+(16)^2 now find xy and then add xy+xz+yz to get ur final answer :) Look at the figure. If sinx=1/2, what is the value of y? 1/4 3/4 9/4 4/3 answer- sinx=1/2 sinx=perpendicular/hypotenuse 1/2=9/(8y) 8y=9*2 y=18/8 y=9/4 If sin y=9/c and tan y=9/d, what is the value of cos y? tany=siny/cosy 9/d = (9/c)/cosy 9/d=9/c*cosy cosy=9/c*d/9 cosy=d/c

Maybe in simpler terms? Leo travels Y to X which is 34 km Sam travels Y to X, which is an unknown length To find YX you use Pythagorean theorem 16^2 + b^2 = 34^2 YX is equal to 30km now you add 16km( from X to Z) is qual to 46 km 46-34=12 Sam reveled 12 km more than Leo Second problem the answer is 9/4 Third problem the answer is y=d/c

Thankyou :) can you help me with another one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can try! Maybe you can check out my question too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which equation is correct? sec x° = opposite ÷ adjacent cot x° = opposite ÷ adjacent cosec x° = opposite ÷ adjacent sec x° = hypotenuse ÷ adjacent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the fourth! sec = HYP/ADJ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look at the figure. If sin y°= and tan y°= ,what is the value of cos y°? cos y° = 6/b cos y ̊= 6a cos y ̊= 6b cos y° = b/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does sin y equal? what does tan y equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin y= a/6 tan y = a/b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b/6 = cos y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOH COH TOA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help with so many questions :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, Its D
