how do you get the GCF i'm doing factoring with polynomials and it feels like i am pulling teeth cause i suck at it

OpenStudy (uri):

What's the Question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x5 + 9x3 + 12x its just a sample question i need to get this down before the test so could we like disect this problem to the point where i can do it forwards and backwards?

OpenStudy (uri):

Well what do you think is in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (uri):

3x1=3 3x3=9 3x4=12 So 3 is common right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes

OpenStudy (uri):

And Everyone has an x with it...so x is in common too right? every one has atleast one x in common,Right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (uri):

So, 3x5 + 9x3 + 12x 3x(x^4+3x^2+4)

OpenStudy (uri):

Get it? @splatter6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and from then we would just multiply?

OpenStudy (uri):

Multiply..what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 into all those, right, to check it

OpenStudy (uri):

Yeah you can check...it's right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and so tht would be the answer?

OpenStudy (uri):

I think yes..

OpenStudy (uri):

@jdoe0001

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks i will be back later for more problems i need to go to the store so keep it sunny san deigo
