The volume of a cylinder is the area of the base (B) times the length of its altitude (h). Which of the following is the formula for the volume of a cylinder? A. V = Bh B. V = 2Bw C. V = -Bh D. V = Bh

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The first and last choices are the same. If B stands for a number and h stands for a number, in math, what does Bh mean? When you write two variables next to each other, without showing an opperation, what operation is meant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bh stands for base times heights

I bearly made this account and idont really know how to do this ;/

im sorry the for letter A: is 1/2Bh

Look at it this way. If you have the following (5)(2)=10. What are the 5 and 2 doing? what s the "hidden" operation?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You already said that Bh means B times h. The statement of the problem says that the volume is the base B times the height h, so the answer is V = Bh.

Ohh , yeahh! lol thanks ! (:
