How does light-dependent reactions make carbon for the light independent reactions ?

OpenStudy (4n1m0s1ty):

I believe that the light dependent reactions (i.e. photosynthesis) forms glucose (carbon compound) that can be broken down and used for energy in the light independent reactions (i.e. glycolysis, etc.)

@4n1m0stly So..Carbon isn't used anywhere alone in the process?

OpenStudy (4n1m0s1ty):

Well typically when refer to carbon on biology it is always in a molecular form. During the light dependent reactions inorganic carbon (carbon dioxide) is converted into organic carbon (glucose). We call this process carbon fixation.
