MEDAL What is the horizontal displacement of the basic graph to produce a graph of y = π - 3cos(x-2)? A. π units right B. 2 units left C. 2 units right D. 3 units left

@hartnn @agent0smith @OpenSessame @zzr0ck3r

Do I shift right two units? C.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

The average, mean, value of a cos or sin is zero, therefore any constant added would be the horizontal displacement.

OpenStudy (kenljw):

sorry that's vertical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it be D but im not sure at all...

OpenStudy (kenljw):

a cos or sin occur when their argument, that in parenthesis, in zero, therefore x = 2 which if you draw it is a shift to the right.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

cos(x-2): the -2 means a shift to the right, since as @KenLJW you want to set the part inside brackets to zero ( x-2=0 so x=2 )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. is the answer

Thanks everyone for trying :)
