This is going to sound really simple, but I just want to be sure. How do you describe a set as a union of finite or infinite intervals? Ex. Would the inequality |2x+4|>3, which has intervals (-∞, -7/2) U (-1/2, ∞) be described as infinite?

Those intervals are infinite in length, so it would be the union of 2 infinite intervals.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure- a friend of mine and I keep disagreeing on this particular problem. I appreciate it! :)
