Could someone explain how to solve this? Please & Thank you!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }x-1=\frac{ 1 }{ 6 }x+2\]

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm, what if you multiply both sides by 6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hate fractions multiply both sides by \(6\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

and?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If i work it out can you help me spot what I did wrong? :)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm, is very straightforward once you multiply by 6, the denominators are cancelled out and all you have is a simple linear equation, isolate "x" and is all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I now understand what I was doing wrong,Thanks:))
