hello everyone, can someone please give some time to open the link and view the question? i just want to know that the front and rear of the boat would be a parabloid or an ellipsoid? https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=D6DD0B06EB2EB564!970&authkey=!AAszm1A4u6uqkE0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an ellipsoid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did the question by assuming parabloid (only front and rear part, not the middle).. many said parabloid, but one of my teacher said it is an ellipsoid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just told you its an ellipsoid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did not understand how it is an ellipsoid. is it a half ellipsoid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok do you know what an ellipsoid is fan me so we can message as well and so i can help with more questions but an ellipsoid is a semicircle hang on let me get the formula for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x@ }{ a^2 }+\frac{ y^2 }{ b^2 }+\frac{ z^2 }{ c^2 }=1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 btw and its basically meaning that either way tha tformual will end up in the form of a semi circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you see what im saying?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heres is the formula for a parabloid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ z }{ c }=\frac{ x }{ a ^{2} }+\frac{ y ^{2} }{ b ^{2} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now tell me what formula fits better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok it might take me some time to reply im helping a friend but take the numbers of the boat diagrams and plug them into the equation and see what you come to get but i wanna see your work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

work out the problem step by step on here i will correct you if you are wrong show me step for step and i will do corrections if i need to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem is that i have never studied ellipsoid. this is my research project.. i want to try my best

OpenStudy (anonymous):

message me your number i will call and explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

according to me, if i take origin at center of ellipsoid, a=1, b=1, c=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fan me and message me your nummber i will explain on the fone pleaase

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok.. just let me know, if i took the a,b,c correctly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now this is the equation to the ellipsoid right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that looks about right but where are the other numbers gonne be your forgetting a 5, and a 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2c=2, so c=1... and 5? is that part also included in ellipsoid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea because your accounting for the entire sum a boat can be split into 2 right? which means that there is gonna be 2 semi circles basically saying that you have to apply the 5 and you already used c so thats not gonna be an answer for a variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u lost me... thanx anyways.. i will try to figure it out by myself.. thanx a lot for ur time.. i really appreciate it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem any time
