\[\sqrt{x}*\sqrt{y}=\sqrt{xy}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just foil out the terms in the brackets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\sqrt{?}6 \times \it by everything?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

times 3 werid symbol 6 by everything?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a*\sqrt{x}*\sqrt{y}=a*\sqrt{xy}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry but what is a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still dont get it, I'm sorry :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry if im bothering you

OpenStudy (aaronq):

first term in the brackets: \[\sqrt{24}=\sqrt{6*4}=2\sqrt{6}\] distributing the term outside to the terms inside (only 1st shown): \[3\sqrt{6}*2\sqrt{6}=6\sqrt{6*6}=6\sqrt{36}=6*6=36\]

OpenStudy (aaronq):

is that notation better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did you get the 6*4 from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm

OpenStudy (aaronq):

24=6*4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (aaronq):

do you get how to do it now?
