can somebody help me brush up on how to find the distance of two points in a triangle , using pythagorean theorem ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like how would you subtract this problem ? what numbers go first? the bigger numbers? help me D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no pythagoras here, then are on the same horizontal line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from minus two to four is six units to the right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont very much like using a triangle to do it , if you can explain more on how to subtract the actual number's there (-2,-3) and (4,-3) that would be great! because i am still extreamly confused :l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you did not go up or down at all right? because both \(y\) coordinates are \(-3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in other words it is the same as going six blocks east, from -2 to 4
