since 5 come from the center of the circle, it acts as a bisector so it bisects 21 into 10.5 this way you can form a triangle like this |dw:1375748261150:dw| then you use the pathagorean theorem so \[5^{2} + 10.5^{2}=C ^{2}\] so you get \[\sqrt{135.25}\] so you get roughly 11.6
