What is the 5th partial sum of the sum of negative 3 plus 5 for n equals 1 to infinity ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} -3+5n\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-3+5-3+10-3+15-3+20-3+25\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so when they say the '5th partial sum' they mean to plug in the 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probably a slicker way to do it, but that works for a small number like 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fifth partial sum means literally \[\sum_{n=1}^5a_n\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhh okay I see what you mean thank you soo much :)
