5 Differences between continuous and discontinuous variation?

OpenStudy (opcode):

Continuous Variation: Continuous variation is that of the combined impact of many genes referred to as polygenic inheritance. Essentially continuous variation are little variations between individuals, these variations are usually affected by environment greatly. Examples of continuous variation: Height, shoe size, and length of hair. These are normally plotted on a line graph. Discontinuous Variation: Discontinuous variation is where individuals fall into a number of, "distinct classes or categories", and is based on features that cannot be measured across a complete range. Examples of discontinuous variation: Blood group, gender, hair color, and eye color. The blood group is a good example of discontinuous variation, because you are either one blood group or another. This data is considered to be categorical data, such data is usually plotted on a bar chart or pie chart.
