Factor completely: 2x^2 + 5x + 2 Prime (2x + 2)(x + 1) (2x − 2)(x − 1) (2x + 1)(x + 2)

In order to get through this problem, one can multiply out the answers offered. Try the 3rd one down the list first.

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

you can check by multiplying, lets try (2x+1) (x+2) so 2x (x) = 2x^2 2x (2) = 4x 1(x) = x 1(2) = 2 so that is 2x^2 + 5x + 2 that is what we were looking for

@ivettef365 You should have done one that wasn't the answer, so the questioner would be challenged to do it his/herself.

Thank You!!! I got it now since ivettef365 gave me the answer. But next time I would like to try it on my own please. But thanks anyway.

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

Not a problem :)
