1/4x+2=6

thomaster (thomaster):

Do you need to solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just say's solve. I think the x are cancel out 16 got 16

thomaster (thomaster):

\(\sf\dfrac{1}{4}x+2=6\) first bring 2 to the right \(\sf\dfrac{1}{4}x=4\) now multiply both sides by 4 \(\sf x=16\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did u get the 4? And can you put it in a format that I can see please

thomaster (thomaster):

I put that in LaTeX format, you should be able to read that here the text version: 1/4 x+2=6 bring 2 to the right 1/4 x = 4 now you multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of the 1/4 before the x So you'll end up with x = 16

Ok thanks!
