Hi, I've a couple of questions about Paul's online Notes. I'll post each one separately. First is from 'Calculus I, Integration Applications - solution to practice problems. The page is 83 and it's from the line starting "Likewise, the height.... My question is: How does h=b/2 *tan(Pi/4) become (root 2)/2 *(2-[y squared]). If you break it down, it seems to be suggesting that tan(Pi/4) is root 2 whereas it's one - isn't it?
